In Lijiang, Naxi culture is a unique enduring part of life in this region that you will want to experience. We will bring you to see brilliant vistas of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from different points of view. You will also see crystalline blue waters, herds of peaceful yaks, traditional houses and ancient fresco’s and explore the unique local Dongba culture. • Black Dragon Pool: one of the most iconic views in China of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the park. • Baisha village: traditional houses of the ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom and admire beautiful ancient fresco’s • Dongba Museum: exhibits about the ancient and unique Dongba culture of the Naxi ethnic minority. • Yak meadow: beautiful views of the Snow Mountain with a lot of Yaks in the foreground. • Blue Moon Valley: the waters of the Blue Moon Valley are so clear they look like a huge sapphire.
After breakfast your driver and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Lijiang ancient town or a meeting point if the car cannot enter the small streets of Lijiang ancient town. We will first drive you to the Black Dragon Pool. Enjoy one of the most iconic views in China of the impressive Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the background of a beautiful traditional Chinese garden. Right next to the park, you will find the Dongba Museum, where you can learn more about the unique matriarch Naxi minority culture, a culture very distinct from any other ethnic minority culture in China. Afterwards we will head to Baisha village, which is the birth place of Chieftain Mu, whose 22 generations spanning over 470 years once ruled Lijiang. In this village you can enjoy well-preserved historical buildings and murals depicting older times and the prosperous Mu-clan. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is China’s most southern all year-round snow-capped mountain. The Yak meadow is home to the Yi and Tibetan people. With yaks in the foreground of the snowy mountain in a changing landscape every season, this place is a true paradise for photographers. Near the end of the day we will admire the azure turquoise waters of the Blue Moon Valley and walk around the crystal lakes. Afterwards we will bring you back to Lijiang ancient town.
