Stanley Market

Market in Aberdeen & South Hong Kong Island

No big bargains or big stings, just reasonably priced casual clothes (including big sizes and children's wear), bric-a-brac, souvenirs and formulaic art, all in a nicely confusing maze of alleys running down to Stanley Bay. It’s best to go during the week; on the weekend the market is bursting at the seams with tourists and locals.

Good choices for gifts and souvenirs include stone 'chops' (stamps) carved with the owner's name, embroidered baby shoes, and pretty (though factory-produced) painted wooden boxes. Do bargain here, but not aggressively.
