Shing Kee

Market in Sha Tin

Tucked into the oldest public housing estate in Sha Tin, this 30-year-old establishment is no ordinary dai pai dong (food stall). It resembles a gallery, with furnishings, including the chairs, picked up from public wheelie bins and craftily recycled by the owner. Noodles are served by day; hotpot, including several dozens of broths, by night.

To get there, take bus 83K, or it’s a 15-minute walk northeast from Sha Tin station.
