Aside from the hawkers on Longtou Lu and Quanzhou Lu, Gǔlàng Yǔ is an open-air museum perfect for wandering on foot. You can circumnavigate the island’s rocky beaches, short cut through man-made tunnels, or make the skip over Sunlight Rock in the middle. The colonial-era architecture is distinctly European, but life spills out into the narrow alleys where hip Chinese snap their way around this incongruously cool cafe scene.

An inclusive ticket ( ¥100) covers your entrance to the Koxinga Memorial Hall, Sunlight Rock (and cable-car ride), the Organ Museum and the International Calligraphic Carving Art Gallery.
