Táo Táo Jū Restaurant

Top choice dim sum in Guangzhou

An esteemed name in Canton's yum cha dynasty, Táo Táo Jū packs in the over-60s for dim sum wheeled out on heated carts. There's no menu; you'll be given a slip of paper which gets stamped each time you help yourself to a steamer off the cart, or a dish, such as fried noodles, from the kitchen kiosks.

The three-storied building here, along historic (but hectic) Shipu Lu, dates to the 1880s, but you wouldn't know it from the bling interiors.
