When trekking through the lofty mountains, gullies and passes in Qiang-inhabited regions, you might wonder at the sky-scraping Qiang-style bulwarks, which, with their awe-inspiring and mighty steeples, pierce the sky and pop into your view from time to time.
The Qiang nationality is minority groupcomposing the great Chinese nation. A diligent and fortitudinous nationlity, the Qiang nationlity has come through hardships and remained industrious as a both old and young ethnic group. As a provident, insightful and intelligent creator of the Qiang culture, the Qiang people contribute positively to the Chinese civilization. The most characteristic cultural carriers of the Qiang cultural heritages are the bulwarks, the embroidery and the folk houses. They incorporate the major features and charm of the minority group and embody the ethnic culture in terms of history, culture and art. The Qiang village which we will go named Taoping Qaing village which is located in Lixian county and 158kms away from Chengdu. It was valued as the "living fossil" of the Qiang nationality architecturalart. The customers will be picked up in the hotel in 0800 a.m. After three hours driving by bus or car (depends on how many person) arrive the village. By the time, have the lunch in the folk house. The preserved pork fat slices and the seasonal fresh vegetable will be served as the most welcome. In the afternooon, we will explore the mysterious "Oriental Castles" leaded by the tour guide. At 1630 go back to CHengdu and drop off in hotel.
