Housed within the delightfully renovated grounds of a disused, centuries-old temple, this is Běijīng's most extravagant fine-dining experience for those seeking a special occasion splurge. Food is contemporary European fine dining with a French leaning – think lobster, poached scallops, slow-cooked veal and decadent desserts. TRB also boasts one of the most extensive wine lists in town and can mix a serious cocktail.
Service is pampering and the setting is exquisite, with decor as sleek as a contemporary art gallery (and plenty of art pieces too, tastefully strewn about the courtyard). Reservations recommended. Sister restaurant TRB Forbidden City serves the same fare in a romantic spot beside the Forbidden City's moat.
