ItineraryDay 1: Gubeikou Great WallPass By: The Great Wall of Gubeikou, BeijingOur guide will pick you at the hotel and then transfer to Gubeikou.Gubeikou Great wall which is the most invasion-prone section of the wall during the Ming Dynasty. Originally built in 1378, Gubeikou was designed to assist in repelling the Mongols from the north. We begin our trek amidst Panlong (Hidden Dragon) mountains and pass numerous watchtowers and garrisons, before making a diversion through dense forest to bypass a military area. After lunch, we will start hiking right from the village next to the main road, then we hike on the trail up to Great Wall, which is quite fading. Then, we walk along the wall eastwards to the direction of Jinshanling.The construction of the Great Wall is getting better and better. After 2-3 hours hike on the wall, we will take steps down to a village where we are going to stay. And it is quite peaceful in that village.Trekking distance: 5kmTrekking time: 2-3 hoursTrekking difficulty: difficult, with uphill and downhillMeals included: • Lunch • DinnerAccommodation included: Overnight Ye Shufang HomestayDay 2: Jiankou Great Wall to Mutianyu Great WallPass By: The Great wall of Jiankou-The Great Wall Alternative, BeijingToday, we will drive to Xizhazi village, where we hike up about 1.5 to 2 hours on mountain trail up to Jiankou Great Wall through forest. The trail firstly is flat, then gradually to be steep and more difficult to hike. The trek poles will help you a lot. After the first and hardest section of the ascending, we will get up to Zhenbeilou Tower, where the view around gets wide open and stunning. We could see the villages nestle at the bottom of the valleys while the Great Wall winds its way from the east to the west on the top of the mountain, like huge arms holding the villages. From Zhenbeilou Tower, the trail goes much flatly on the Great Wall with trees, shrubs, and flowering plants have overgrown large portions of the wall itself in summer time. Pass By: Mutianyu Great Wall, BeijingAnother 1.5 -2 hours heading east, we get on well renovated Great Wall and that is Mutianyu Great Wall.From Mutianyu Great Wall, hike down on the steps to the cable car station or toboggan station. The cable car ride is something really enjoyable after long hike. Our driver will transfer us about 30 minutes back to our hotel in Huairou (10 minutes to School House).Trekking distance: 8-10 KMApprox trekking time: 4-6 hoursTrekking difficulty: difficult, with uphill and downhillVehicle transfer: 130KM/2.5-3hrs (from Huairou to Xizhazi), 20KM/40min (from Mutianyu to Hotel)Meals included: • Breakfast • Lunch: There is no option for lunch on the Great Wall, it is better to include lunch in the program today. Accommodation included: Overnight Standard Level: Shuangyang HotelDay 3: Juyongguan Great WallPass By: Juyongguan Great Wall, BeijingToday is our last day trekking the Great Wall of China. In the morning, transfer about 1hour to Juyongguan Great Wall. Juyongguan Great Wall is a loop across the Badaling highway. We will take the steps down, eastwards to cross the river and hike up to the mountain on the other side to the parking place. On the top of the Great Wall, we could see the Badaling railway, which was the first railway built in China.The hike on Juyongguan Great Wall is about 2 hours.
