Yulong Sand Lake (Yulong Shahu Scenic Spot) is located in the region of Wengniute Banner and is a national AAA attraction. The “The First Dragon in China” famous both at home and abroad was unearthed here. The Yulong Sand Lake area is a comprehensive tourist zone integrating prairies, deserts, lakes, hills and Mongolian customs.
The oasis in the desert, the Yulong Sand Lake Scenic Spot, is visited by travelers from all over China and beyond for its unique scenery and isolation away from the bustle of the city. You will pass through the grasslands that eventually transform into the sands of the desert and in the scenic spot itself, you can enjoy numerous desert activities (at your own expense). Yulong Sand Lake itself means “Moon Dragon Sand Lake”, and the lake itself can be seen out on the desert as a small haven for various desert and grassland wildlife, which includes some migratory birds. While out in the desert, can see (and even try to ride) camels, or try out quad bike riding. Exploring the area is free, giving you a perfect opportunity to capture the beautiful panoramas of the desert scenery during your stay. Away from the city, the vast horizons and clear open sky are an incredible sight to behold.
