Weiyang Palace is an imperial palace during the Western Han Dynasty. Built in 200 BC, it was the place where 12 emperors of Western Han governed the court. At 9am or your appointed time, professional local driver will wait you at your centrally located hotel in Xi'an downtown. Then drive you directly to the Han dynasty style park set by the moat. First you will watch a short documentary of Han Chang'an City to deepen your understanding upon this city and then acsend a seven-storeys pavilion to take a bird view of the whole city. You can also walk by the moat and witness the east part of the city wall, as well as the southeast corner ruin, which is the best preserved one. After that, head to the Heritage Park of Weiyang Palace, which also leads to the street outside Xi'an Gate. There are totally three gates in south city wall and Xi'an gate is the one in the left side. You can walk into this heritage and learn the background of this enormous park. You can witness the underground site of Xi'an Gate and the south part of Han City Wall site. Different from Xi'an Ancient City Wall, Han City Wall is made of rammed earth. Afterwards you can see the Front Hall site of Weiyang Palace. Located in the center of the palace complex, it is the main building in which the emperor dealt with state affairs. You can also walk to Tian Lu Ge, the imperial library of Han dynasty. When this tour conclude, your driver will take you back to your downtown hotel.
