Tour description provided by Viator

A unique experience traveling to the border with Argentina passing by the "Paso Jama", which is 4,830 m above sea level located in the Andes Mountains and heading towards the Salar de Tara. On the way we will stop at "Mirador del bofedal de Quepiaco", where this "photographic safari" begins.
We start the tour from our office in San Pedro with a maximum of 15 people per van. The guide will receive you and then we head to the Salar de Tara. The tour includes the park entrances.  Depart time: 7:30h/8h Arrivalt time: 16:00h.The tour includes snacks, breakfast and lunch. There we will find formations of stones of approximately 15 meters of height denominated "Monks of the Pacana"; at this point the path ends and we rely on the experience of our guide and driver who enter the Chilean Altiplano. A true odyssey to see and contemplate the "white Monks", formations of volcanic ash and next to them the famous cathedrals carved by the erosion of the wind and the water during millions of years. To end the tour and not the show, we stop for lunch admiring the James Flamingos in a lush 'lagoon'
