Officially within park boundaries but privately owned, El Caulle, two kilometers west of Anticura, marks the southern entrance for the trek across the western base of Volcán Puyehue. It's also an excellent restaurant (CH$7500 to CH$10,000) – serving dishes such as grilled wild boar and pastel de jaiba (crab casserole) – and offers dorm accommodations for CH$8000 (with sleeping bag) and CH$13,000 (with mattress).
