One of Vancouver's oldest noodle shops, fancy-free Kintaro feels like a bustling ramen spot in backstreet Tokyo. Arrive off-peak to avoid queues and snag a counter seat to watch the steam-shrouded action. Miso ramen is recommended; a brimming bowl of sprouts, bamboo shoots and thick slices of barbecued pork. When you're done, walk off your noodle belly in Stanley Park.
Keep in mind that there are lots of other, newer noodle joints in this area; if you can't stand queuing, it's just a short walk to the next one.
