You'll have spotted the lunchtime line-ups at the Japadog hotdog stands around town, but this was their first storefront, opening back in 2010. The ever-genki Japanese expats serve up a menu of irresistible wonder weiners – think turkey smokies with miso sauce and bratwursts with onion, daikon and soy – but there are also naughty seasoned fries (try the wasabi version).

The tiny tables are usually taken, but the take-out window does a roaring trade.
