Vancouverites used to content themselves with humdrum croissants and lame French pastries that would be laughed off the counter in Paris – until this amazing bakery opened. Now, it's the pilgrimage spot of choice for eye-rollingly amazing treats from cinnamon scrolls to completely irresistible peanut-butter-sandwich cookies. And as for the croissants, they're the best in the city: shatteringly crisp with chewy-soft interiors.
This is a great place to make up a little brown box of treats to go. On sunny days, if the three little red tables outside are all claimed, head across the street where a new pocket-sized park also has a few tables. They also make sandwiches here: try the vegetarian variety, complete with avocado and Asian pear in a croissant.
