This rambling bohemian cafe is a hip, healthy and ever-friendly Drive landmark, serving a good array of local beers and well-priced vegetarian comfort food. The small stage is deployed every evening, with acoustic musicians, performance poets or open-mike wannabes keeping things lively. Aim for a red vinyl side booth or hit the slender deck out front for a pyrotechnic summertime sunset.
Poetry slams are held on Monday nights ($6 to $10 cover charge) and shows start at 8pm (doors open 7pm). This is your big chance to regale the locals with your leotard-clad retelling of The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, perhaps while playing a lute. If you're here during the day, there's also a good-value $10 burger-and-beer happy hour special from 4pm to 6pm.
