Jericho Beach Park is one of Vancouver's hidden gems, packed with wildlife and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still only 20 minutes from downtown. On this nature kayak tour, you will depart from Jericho Beach and paddle along the shoreline of Vancouver's West Side, viewing wildlife, beaches and some of the most beautiful sunsets and city views possible. Often a harbor seal will pop up nearby, or you might be able to catch sight of one of the resident bald eagles soaring overhead.Join this tour every Friday evening in June, July, August and early September for a 2.5-hour relaxing kayak tour. This tour is a maximum of 6 participants per guide to ensure a personalized and small group experience.
Please check-in 10-15 minutes in advance of your tour start time. Tour times varies with the sunsets. You will make your way toward Jericho Beach, where your guide will be waiting for departure.The first 20 minutes of your tour will be spent getting set up in your kayak and life jacket, as well as getting familiar with how to use the paddle. There will also be a short safety briefing on paddling as a group before getting on the water.Following this, you'll launch from the beach and have some time on the water to get comfortable and practice kayaking before setting off along the shoreline to take in the sights. The passionate guides will share their favorite stories and help you experience Vancouver from the unique perspective of a kayak.This tour is designed for those with little or no kayaking experience. On this tour, you will paddle at a relaxed pace to take in the sights and stop for photos. Anyone with moderate fitness can easily join this tour! Please let us know in advance if you have any condition that may affect your ability to paddle or enter a kayak on the beach. Your guide can work with you to find a way to get you out paddling.
