Welcome to Qikiqtarjuaq
The 'iceberg capital of Nunavut', the friendly hamlet of Qikiqtarjuaq ('Qik' for short) is picturesquely situated on Broughton Island and is one of two gateways to Auyuittiq National Park. Not far from Qik, on the northeast side of Baffin Island, are the vast Cape Searle & Reid Bay National Wildlife Areas, a prime destination for bird-watchers. The wildlife areas protect the globally significant breeding grounds of millions of migratory seabirds, such as murres, kittiwakes and fulmars. Contact the Hamlet office for recommended local operators.
