This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:
Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…
We are doing a short road trip and want to spend our first night camping somewhere after the big hill from Pemberton up to Duffy Lake. Google shows about ten campsites along that stretch of road. But everywhere online people are warning each other that you have to book campsites in advance. Is that really true when there's so much choice? We'll be there on a Tuesday night (June 25). Thanks!
We want to travel for 4 weeks form Calgary to Vancouver next september. It has to be a Full Size car.
With Canadian Affair the costs are around 750 euro and the next cheapest rental is with rentalcars.com and is around 1200 euro. Big difference! We cannot find anything strange in the rental conditions of Canadian Affair, but still... the prize is almost 'too good to be true'.
Has anyone experience with Canadian Affair? Or tips what to do?
Thank you all!
We are planning on going to a small rodeo in Innisfail, Alberta on 15th June 2018. Before that we are picking up a small camper van in Calgary and thought we could head to Drumheller area to take a look before heading to BC for the Rockies after the rodeo in Innisfail.
Can anyone make any suggestions of some interesting nature and trails with campsites for a small van to make a nice route from Drumheller to Innisfail and then on to the Rockies as suggested stops.
We pick up the van in Calgary…
Hi all, I would like to ask about the Niagara Falls trip.
I have seen a lot of websites having day tours and packages for Niagara Falls, however they seem to run a bit late till like 6-7 in the evening.
Unfortunately I have a flight to catch so I think it might be hard for me to join such tours, so am wondering here if it is a good option to go solo and explore the whole area?
Any information which can be shared here? Or personal experiences? I like to know like how early would be the…
Visitors to Toronto during World Cup get added value. Especially if Italy, Portugal or Brazil are playing that day, cafes in the associated neighbourhoods (for eg. we have more than one Little Italy) will sell-out by game time. Oversized screens, a charged atmosphere and great food await the curious. I lived in Little Italy during the '82 final. I had just finished a double shift at work immediately prior to racing back to catch the match. What a party afterwards!
Done I am. Gooooooooooooooooal!
Hi guys, I've been thinking about making my first trip across the Atlantic a trip to Canada. I will (probably) be solo and I don't drive, so I figure it makes sense for me to stay in one of the big cities where there will be endless things to do and good transport. What do you guys recommend? Toronto or Vancouver seems like the obvious choice to me, and sometimes the obvious choice is the best one for a first visit? Also open to suggestions on best time of year to visit (presumably not Winter)…
I’m looking for experiences traveling with a baby as the only parent, from Canada to US and back. It’s just my name on the birth certificate but I am still nervous as I have no other documentation. I can’t get straight answers from US Embassy by email as they have to say that they recommend notarized letters. I got my child’s Canadian passport no problem!
A really basic question! -
I'll be travelling first to Montreal for two days, then a week in Ottawa, then a week in Vancouver. If I buy a sim card in Montreal and then use it for data/talk in Ottawa or Vancouver, surely I'll have to pay high rates because I'm roaming within Canada... right? I can't find an answer online.
