This thread is intended to contain information useful to people travelling to Canada - please feel free to add anything relevant to it! Before we start though, here's some advice from the TT team:

  1. Do a TT search! At least five posters a week ask what to do in Toronto, whether to go visit Niagara Falls on their way around the world, and whether it's possible to work under the table/overstay a tourist visa. The road is well travelled. Find those threads, add a reply (which brings the…

Hi, I am planning to go to Canada to do my MSC. But I am not sure about the currency exchange, how it works and how well Canada is for exchange.

After an absence of many years, the mostly-free concerts down by the waterside at 'Harbourfront' are apparently going to return this summer. One example is a concert by world music star Vieux Farka Toure, which will apparently occur during the 3 Day Small World concerts Aug. 17-19. Especially if a show is free, the value would be outstanding, as the summer atmosphere in that quayside locale is about as good as it gets in the city.
Back in the day, numerous World Music superstars (inc. Vieux's…

Hello! I am travelling to Canada this August and I want to do a tour to the Rockies, up to 15 days. I am travelling on my own and in my 30s so looking for a company that isn't full of teenagers and also that includes accommodation. I am pretty anxious as this is my first big solo trip in a while!

Hello fellow travel enthusiasts!
I'm currently in Toronto (2nd-4th June 2018) and looking for someone to visit the CityPass destinations with me (CN Tower, Aquarium, Zoo, Royal Ontario Museum, etc)
I might extend my stay, depending on how fast we get through the destinations.

Best greetings and happy travels~
Liley

The current heat wave has resulted in damage to the Grizzly Fence that protects the city. The extreme humidity has melted some of the protective coating atop the ropes used in the fence, with the result that some bears have been able to chew their way through the exposed rope. Bairu Wakame of the Toronto Taxi Association held a press conference today (see below), warning visitors to be on the lookout, especially at taxi stands.
