Gros Morne Mountain Trail

Hiking in Gros Morne National Park

With sublime views, this rocky and strenuous 16km round-trip hike ascends Gros Morne Mountain, at 806m the highest point in the national park. The initial trail is easy and wooded, with steps and boardwalks leading to a mountain loop (eight hours total round-trip). The climb passes through a steep rock gully – wear proper hiking boots and bring lots of water.

On the back side a 600m precipice overlooks the sheer fjords of 10 Mile Pond. Skip the entire mountain trail in fog or poor weather.
