Green Gables Shore Tour from Charlottetown

Meet your tour guide and group at the Charlottetown Visitor Information Centre. Then board your vehicle and head out of town to the Green Gables Shore, a region on Prince Edward Island’s north coast that’s known for its natural beauty and Anne of Green Gables-related attractions. During the approximate 45-minute drive, listen to commentary from your experienced and informative guide, and admire the landscape as it changes from rolling farmland to windswept coastline. Pass by tiny fishing villages and make photo stops at lighthouses and Cavendish Beach, a broad stretch of sand in Prince Edward Island National Park. Known for its dunes and cliffs, it’s a favorite local beach.Next, head to Green Gables itself. Famous for being the inspiration and setting for native daughter Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 novel, the 19th-century farm in Cavendish is a National Historic Site. Tour the classic green-and-white farmhouse to see its Victoria-era decor and artifacts.Finally, stop by the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company in the lovely village of New Glasgow. Island's Finest Private Tour

Our most popular tour begins with a historic exploration of Charlottetown landmarks as we drive out of the city. As this is a private customizable tour our start time can fit around your schedule. A short drive through the countryside takes us to the beautiful north shore of PEI, where you will see beautiful vistas including, lighthouses, red cliffs, sand dunes, north shore beaches, mussel farms, and fishing villages.  The tour includes a stop at historic Dalvay by the Sea a national historic site.  There are stops along the way to explore PEI’s National Park and its beautiful beaches plus a visit to The Dunes, an Island icon with beautiful, quality, island crafts and an incredible garden to explore.  Then it’s on to a true gem, the harbour at North Rustico. This north shore Acadian fishing village is where you will see a working fishing village and learn about the lobster fishing industry on PEI. You’ll have the opportunity to see one of the oldest lighthouses on the Island here as well.  As we depart we will drive through the PEI National Park with its beautiful views and abundance of wildlife (like the Island fox) and a stop at the bluffs overlooking the beach and red cliffs.  Finally, a crowd favorite: it’s on to a to Green Gables House, the house of the fictional character Anne of Green Gables (photo stop only).  Additional time can be added if you wish to visit the site itself.  The next stop is a brief visit to the PEI Preserve Company housed in an old 1913 butter factory for a taste of their world famous Island made preserves. Finally, we will return to your pick up location through the beautiful hills of New Glasgow. Don’t forget, this tour can be customized to your liking.
