There are more than 20 licensed retailers across the province, from St John's to Labrador City; you must be 19 to purchase. Driving while impaired on marijuana (measured by a field sobriety test and the limit of 2 nanograms of THC per milliliter in whole blood) can result in criminal charges.
You are allowed to possess up to 30 grams of marijuana. Technically, you must consume in a private dwelling or yard attached to a private dwelling. In practice, people certainly smoke in public, but if you choose to do so, it's at your own risk.
At the time of research, edibles were not available in local dispensaries, but they are expected to hit the market by 2020.
