The benchlands of
East Kelowna has been prime agricultural land for well over 100 years now. You'll be riding through orchards and gardens that were first planted by the original settlers of the area in the late 1800's and early 1900's. From here, fruit was shipped around the world. We've worked together with one of Kelowna's most recognized chefs,
Mark Filitow to introduce you to his favorite farm-to-table sources and provide an intimate insider's view of this bountiful region. We'll stop at
local wineries (including
Tantalus Vineyards and Meadow Vista Honey Wines), herb and flower gardens, Arlo's Honey Farm, Caldwell Heritage Farms, fruit stands and working orchards with plenty of
sampling along the way!
For this tour, we can pick you up and drop you off anywhere in the Kelowna or West Kelowna area. This tour is suitable for most casual and active cyclists. The tour route is about 30 kilometers in length and has some climbing (approximately 200 m in total during the tour). While we are mainly on quieter country roads, we will be riding with some traffic so you should be comfortable with this. Our bikes are Trek hybrid Dual Sports, which are great for road and limited off-road riding. If you decide to make a purchase en route (wine, fruit, etc) let us know and our support vehicle can pick it up and transport it to your drop off location.
