Welcome to Baddeck
The small resort town of Baddeck sits beside mighty Bras d'Or Lake, the largest lake in Nova Scotia – at 1099 sq km, it's more like an inland sea. The town makes a useful staging post before you head up to the highlands. Its main claim to fame is its link with inventor Alexander Graham Bell: he built himself a grand country estate just outside town in the late 19th century. Now a National Historic Site, it has an interesting museum dedicated to the great man.
