Some of these past exhibitions have been on local cusine, childhood in the Gaspésie, hockey, shipwrecks, art, On your way out spend some time at the Jacques Cartier monument. Located behind the museum this monument is made up of six tablets that recount the story of when the First Nations met European civilization. This monument was inspired by Jacques Cartier`s arrival in 1534 and introduces people, events and historical transcripts. A few meters away is the sculpture En Mémoire D’elle, which is over 5 meters tall and pays homage to the Native, French and English women who helped shaped the Gaspésie.Upgrade your admission ticket to include our La Gaspésienne number 20, new for the summer of 2017. An authentic 60 foot long cod fishing boat, installed on the grounds of the museum. The fishing boat has been restored with the help of the local community.
