You won't go far without the opportunity to crack open a cool beer, which is widely available, even in the Muslim north. The ubiquitous "33" Export being Cameroon's favourite brew. Smaller towns are the most enjoyable for a night out: bar hopping in Limbe, for example, is less daunting than negotiating the mean streets of Douala or Yaoundé. You'll find music played loudly everywhere from buses to clubs: the local penchant is for urban street music and R & B.
