Tours begin with a pick up at your hotel and end with a drop off.Begin in the lively, colorful city of Mindelo at Praca Nova, see and hear about historical places where the people of São Vicente frequent.Travel along Avenida Marginal to Praia d Bote, Diogo Afonso, Belem Tower, and Fish Market, arrive at African Market, then take a stroll on to Church Square where the first community was established, head on to the Municipal Market* where an array of colorful fruits, vegetables can be seen.Take a scenic drive to Monte Verde, 750m or 2,460ft, the highest peak in Sao Vicente, here you will observe the greenest and most fertile place on the island, as most of it is claylike, you will have the opportunity to take wonderful pictures of the breathtaking panoramic views of the city and beaches that outline the outskirts of the island.Head to the town of Salamansa*, this is a charming fishing town, which we feel many have forgotten, the people are always happy to welcome guests!From Salamansa, we will ride to Baia das Gatas, this beach is one that is frequented by the locals during the weekends, looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is also home of the world famous international music festival, Baia das Gatas, an annual festival which occurs every August and bring artists and visitors from all corners of the world. Here you may take a dip in the clear blue lagoon.We will then head to North Baia, a small community, the beach here is sweeping of majestic white sand dunes.If you love plants, trees, vegetables, and agriculture, you will love the journey to our next stop, Calhau. Calhau is a small farming and fishing village also home of Vulcao Viana, an extinct volcano, there are several walking trails to reach the peak. We will stop to enjoy a delicious meal! Head to Valley of Calhau where we will see vegetation, animals, water water wells, windmills, and traditional farming.* If you would like to donate any fruits, vegetables, school supplies or gently used clothing to families in the village of Salamansa please plan to bring these items on our tour or you may purchase fresh produce when we visit the Municipal Market
