Turin Highlights Walking Guided Tour including La Consolata & Piazza San Carlo

This small group tour takes you through the highlights of Turin on a pleasant walk in the city center, discovering the main points of interest, curiosities about the city and historical anecdots. Meet your guide in Piazza C.L.N.  where the tour begins and walk to reach the "living room of the city" Piazza San Carlo, the largest square of Turin and also the most important. Here in the dozens cafés that frame the square, writers and politicians, royals and artists used to meet to discuss and philosophize, You will be accompanied to the old district of the Roman Quadrilateral seat of the Porta Palatina, the best-preserved Roman gate in the world, so much so as to be a UNESCO Heritage site. Cross the gate to head to the largest open-air market in Europe: Porta Palazzo, where you can walk among the many stalls, plenty of local delicacies. Will you be able to resist the temptation to taste them? The tour continues with the John the Baptist Basilic, Cathedral of the city and the spectacular Piazza Castello characterized by the presence of the Royal Palace and Palazzo Madama. This last has been the first Senate of United Italy, while the parliament was in Palazzo Carignano, now Museum of the Risorgimento. Head towards the elegant Via Po with its arcades, where you will stop in front of Mole Antonelliana home of the National Museum of Cinema, and then resume the path to the river Po where the tour will end in front of the beautiful view of the hills of Turin. Spumante Wine Tour + Bergamo from Milan: Private Tour

Let our minivan come to pick you up directly from your hotel in Milan.  After about 1 h. drive, we will reach Bergamo city.  Its oldest part ( città alta - upper town) has been grounded on the top of a hill, completely surrounded by the ancient walls, from where you have a spectacular view over the Po-plane. There is also downhill the second part of the city (città bassa - lower town), where the important economical heart of the city is pulsating. During the visit accompanied by a specialized guide, we will concentrate our attention on the upper town, feeling the experience of living in a middle-aged city with outstanding buildings and magnificent squares. We won't miss spectacular spectacular views over the Po-plane and the visit of the main monuments, including Santa Maria Maggiore church and Colleoni Chapel.  In the early afternoon, after free time for lunch, we will move on the minivan to the wine region called Franciacorta, very famous in Italy and all over Europe for the production of Spumante Wine (equivalent of Champagne, but even better!).  In Franciacorta, an area that boast more then 130 wine producers,  we will visit two different wineries: an industrial-scale one, where we'll have a look at the different steps of the production of wines, from harvest to bottling, and a smaller one ruled by a family where we will feel more the passion for the tradition and the territory.  In both the wineries we will get a full taste of different wines produced (Franciacorta metodo classico) - including biological wines, we will take a walk into the vineyards and, if lucky, having a chat with local winemakers...
