Rahat Tepe

Bulgarian in Plovdiv

Hands down the winner when it comes to shady beer-garden dining and lively atmosphere, Rahat Tepe's meals follow a simple formula: fresh, unfussy and filling. Satch (meat and vegetables on a hot plate) are enormous; salads and kebabs are similarly generous. Service gets chaotic at weekends, but it's ideal for a nosh after clambering around Nebet Tepe's ruins.

At the time of research, Rahat Tepe was expanding with an airy indoor location.
