The main activities in Srebârna and surrounding villages are birdwatching, hiking and fishing. Lake Srebârna is the main destination for birdwatchers. Some of the best fishing is found at the village of Vetren, which lies on the Danube about 4km to the west. Tackle shops are few; you may have to bring your own kit or work through your guesthouse.
Walkers can take the rocky, relatively flat 4km-long ecotrail that starts from the beginning of Srebârna village and runs along the lake.
Srebârna village and nearby Vetren have several guesthouses, though they can be hard to find as village streets are poorly signposted. The best bet is to get detailed location advice from the guesthouse when you make your booking.
Restaurants and oppportunities to grab a bite are rare in these parts. Srebârna village has one centrally located restaurant, the Complex Diva. There's a small unmarked stand by the Danube River in Vetren that serves fish from May to September. To find it, follow the road all the way downhill to the river. For anything else, it's best to pack your own provisions or arrange meals through your guesthouse.
