Can anyone help us! We are trying to get from Sophia up to Transylvania without going through Bucharest. Car, train, bus? We want to spend around 10 days in Romania. Any and all positive suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!
I'm planning a trip to Bulgaria in September. Here's my sketch of itinerary so far. What do you think, is it feasible?

Hello to all!
Does anybody know if there is any public local bus going from Veliko Tarnovo to the village of Arbanasi ?
Any information will be much appreciated :))
Thank you !
We are looking to rent a car and Drive from Sofia through Macedonia to Tirana and return in about 11 days. We would love to get some advice on where to go and places to stay. Road conditions and times would also be very helpful. Costs to cross borders and where to rent a safe and reliable car in Bulgaria. Thanks in advance
I'm planning my trip in early August, 5/8 - 12/5 and looking into the bus tickets as it's a holiday season and was told I need to buy in advance just in case it's sold out.
But I don't think it's on there yet, when does it open usually? like a month advance?
also, could you tell me the website I can buy? Thinking i might be looking at the wrong site.
my plan is:
Sofia > Plovdiv 08/08
Plovdiv > Varna 09/08
Thank you all!
If you want to change money in Sozopol, I found it a little strange that the exchange offices and the private banks advertising with exchange rates around 1€ 1,90 lev. Normally all the banks in Bulgaria use the offical rate for Euro 1,955 or a little less. I changed money in the Obshtina Banka (regional Bank) near the busstop in the old town may bei 100 m forward on the right side if you left the Bus. They work with 1,95 lev for a Euro....
I seriously have no clue what to do for my holiday in transportation-wise. We're planning to go:
Sofia (+Seven Lakes, Rila Monastery) > Plovdiv > Burgas > Varna
It's for a week, but do you think it's better renting a car than train or bus? I saw so many reviews criticising delays and bad condition of the public transports.
It's two people, what would be better do you reckon?
I used to drive in the right side so driving would be fine but is parking/road THAT bad?
Thank you in…
This summer I want to travel through Bulgaria in August. I will start from Sofia. I still have to book my flight back home and I want to depend the airport for this flight on my itinerary, but I think it is going to be Bourgas (or Sofia, but maybe it's better to just travel from west to east instead of going back to Sofia in the end. If not, let me know!).
I have 2.5 week and I don't have a car or a license, so I will be travelling by public transport most of the time. These are the things…
hi, I'm going to be in Polkovnik Serafimovo to attend the Meadows Festival in June of this year.
I'm going to arrive in Sofia on 4th June, the Festival begins on 8th June, so I'll rent a car in Sofia and have a 4-days-trip before arriving among Rhodopes Mountains.
Is there an itinerary you'd suggest? Something worth visiting along the way and perhaps any village festivals or events?
