Churches and house-museums are Arbanasi's key sights, while its working monasteries are less geared towards tourists, with variable hours of access.
For such a petite village, Arbanasi has a wealth of accommodation. Pick from creaky rooms above mehanas to spa hotels that cater to stressed-out urbanites. Prices increase slightly at weekends at upmarket hotels.
Abundant Bulgarian restaurants serve Arbanasi's day trippers and weekend visitors, most of them attached to hotels large and small. Find a good selection along ul Sveti Nikola and ul Kapitan Pavel Gramadov.
Drinking & Nightlife
After the last bus of day trippers pulls out of town, there's not a lot of activity in Arbanasi. Luckily you'll find more than enough nightlife in Veliko Târnovo, an 8km drive southwest.
