Set well off the culinary eaten track in Barra Funda, friendly Chef Paulo Shin (a D.O.M. alum) nevertheless draws in droves for his authentic Korean comfort food. There's an amazing kimchi bokumbap (creamy omelet on a bed of kimchi-sautéed rice) and perfectly textured samgyeopsal (crispy spiced pork belly served with lettuce leaves, chili and rice).
You can try all the star attractions in an R$80 menu – definitely the way to go. Shin's skills were seasoned growing up with immigrant parents. Reservations essential.
