Welcome to Bahia!! My hometown has some of the best flavours in Brazil!!! After working in a food festival for 3 years (Comida di Buteco), I have decided to share my experience with tourist. We will visit local markets and also the most local areas in town with some of the best food and street food of Salvador. Most of tourist come to Salvador and have a muqueca and acaraje, but how about leaving town with a complete gastronomy experience? Try the best "lambreta" in town, or the "cajuroska" and enjoy the Salvador.
The itinerary depends on the day or when we will start the tour, but usually we visit a local market and them start exploring the most local areas in towns. We will start driving to a local market, with local fruits and spices of Bahia. Usually in the market it is also possible to see a bit of local life and most of the time we can have already our first gastronomy experience there (have you paid less than US$ 0.50 for a coconut water? in Bahia it is possible) Them we will start visiting some local areas with the most amazing local food: lambreta, pititinga, arrumadinho, escondidinho, etc. And why not try the most incredible drinks (juices, caipirinhas, caipiroskas) and local beer. We will stop at least in 3 places for the gastronomy experience. I love street food, so when it is possible we will add a street food experience. I usually suggest to start the tour in the morning (at around 10:30 am), so we will be able to have a better experience in the market and local areas. (**meals and drinks are not included)
