Amazonian in Ipanema & Leblon

This tiny cafe doles out rich dishes of maniçoba (Amazon-style feijoada stew made with manioc leaves instead of beans), vatapá (a puree of manioc, dried shrimp, coconut and dendê oil) and Tacacá (a complicated soup made of tapioca, shrimp, lip-numbing jambu leaves and manioc root). For something a little less daring, try the caranguejo society (sautéed crab meat with toasted manioc flour).

The small shop inside sells handicrafts and edible items from the Amazon.
