This tiny cafe doles out rich dishes of maniçoba (Amazon-style feijoada stew made with manioc leaves instead of beans), vatapá (a puree of manioc, dried shrimp, coconut and dendê oil) and tacacá, a complicated soup made of tapioca, shrimp, lip-numbing jambu leaves and manioc root. For something a little less daring, try the caranguejo society (sauteed crab meat with toasted manioc flour).

The small shop inside sells handicrafts and edible items from the Amazon.
