For a look at Brazil's rich folkloric dances, book a ticket to an evening performance of Ginga Tropical. Some 16 different dance styles are represented, including a somewhat spooky orixás performance, lightning-fast frevo, and a stunning acrobatically inclined capoeira group. Other highlights: twirling Amazonian carimbó, sultry Northeastern forró, and a wild and very rarely performed boleadeira from Rio Grande do Sul.
At the time of research shows are held in the Teatro do Leblon, though the location may change in the future. Ticket prices are high, but there's quite a lot of talent on stage, and there are few places in Brazil where you can see all of these dances at once.
