Meet the tour guide and the group at Cinelandia, in front of the Cinema Odeon. First visit is Cinelandia Square, a place that was once know as the Brazilian Broodway, because of its theaters and street movie theaters. From there, walk along with the guide to “Castelo” area, the same spot where years ago we had one of the most important hills of the city, with a stop at Tiradentes Palace, the headquarters of the government of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Check the Praça XV square, a very historical and central square for the city and walk by the Olympic Boulevard, one of the legacy of the Olimpic Games. Head to Rua do Ouvidor, the old main street of commerce of the city and stop at the Confeitaria Colombo, where you can try some specialties and have a cup of the delicious Brazilian coffee. After this short break, we go to Praça Tiradentes, the place where the first constitution of Brazil was signed and to the Gabinete Real de Literatura Portuguesa one of the ten most beautiful librarys of the world. Follow your guide through Rua do Lavradio and Lapa, the night party neighborough of Rio, heading to the Selaron Stairs, a staircase decorated with colored tiles from all over the world. Once the tour is finished, you´ll be presented with some restaurant suggestions to enjoy some delicious Brazilian food (optional, own expense).
