Tom Le Mesurier Lonely Planet

Small groups meet at the English-speaking guide’s Ipanema home for introductions, ice-breaking caipirinhas and a short lesson in dancing samba. The group then takes the metro to a street samba event somewhere in Centro (locations vary). Live samba music, dancing, street food and more drinks round out the four-hour experience. The cost includes all drinks, food and transport.

An excellent activity for solo travelers wanting to join a group for a night of street samba away from the tourist-saturated Zona Sul. The exact meeting point details are provided at the time of booking.
