Waterfall in Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Guimarães
The Waterfall Circuit involves a gentle 6.5km hike through a parched red landscape, covered with scrubland and low trees, with six waterfall stops en route; the whole thing takes four to six hours, depending on how easy you want to take it. The first waterfall is the highest, while the others are better for swimming, with deep pools and cascades forming natural Jacuzzis. Access to some involves negotiating steep steps. Entry is free, but you must go with a registered guide.
