The main road into town loops around the village square and back out again. Buses stop just a few yards from the square, and most stores, restaurants and pousadas are concentrated nearby. The beach is 1km east, across the bridge over the Rio Itaúnas. The village's handful of dirt streets are not signposted, but a pair of handy maps, posted on the square and near the bridge to the dunes, can help you get oriented.
