Sleeping

Ilhabela's options run the gamut, from camping to over-the-top boutique hotels and plenty of hostels. Most folks stay in a charming pousada near Vila or Perequê to be closer to the action; isolationists head to the island's south end. Making a reservation is a good idea on weekends – mandatory on summer weekends. Prices are high, so some travelers choose to stay in São Sebastião, where rates are more reasonable.
