Air

There are direct flights from Aeroporto Internacional Afonso Pena, 18km southeast of Centro, to cities throughout Brazil.

Transport Options

Bus

The classy, wi-fi-enabled Aeroporto Executivo runs direct every 15 minutes from 5:25am to midnight (from 6am Sunday) between the airport and well-marked Centro stops, including: Teatro Guaíra, Receita Federal, Bibiloteca Nacional and Rua 24 Horas. From the rodoferroviária (bus/train station), buses run from 4:40am to 11:11pm (5:30am to 11:24pm Sunday). An express bus follows the same schedule but only goes between the airport, rodoferroviária and Estação Shopping.

Taxi & Ride-Share

A taxi from the airport to Centro runs between R$60 to R$70. Uber fares are about 50% less – meet your driver outside Exit 3 (Saída 3) of the arrivals terminal. Other ride-share apps in operation include 99Taxis and Safer (www.safertaxi.com).

Bus

Curitiba's long-distance bus and train stations form a single three-block complex called the rodoferroviária, which sits 2km southeast of downtown and received a World Cup 2014 makeover. Access to the departures areas are restricted to ticket holders. Ticket counters for interstate bus travel (interestadual) sit on the second floor of the first block; bus companies for destinations within Paraná (estadual) are located on the second floor of the second block. The train station block sits behind the two bus station blocks.

The ticket booths for international destinations are not well-marked – look for Roderotas, the company representing the international bus companies, on the northeast end of the interstadual block. Buses to Asunción leave from Foz de Iguaçu only.
