Três Coroas, 24km south of Gramado, is one of Brazil's white-water rafting hubs.

Canela is a lower-priced alternative to nearby Gramado, but most folks opt to sleep in the more action-oriented neighbor anyway. Listed prices are for the high summer season (December to March).

Canela is chock-full of bistros, Italian food, chocolate and other specialities. Café colonial, a feast consisting of as many as 80 items spread across a table for your enjoyment, is also popular along the road between Canela and Gramado.

Drinking & Nightlife

Like the rest of the folks in the Serra Gaúcha, the canelense are proud of their local craft beers and local wines. Most bars and restaurants will feature homegrown offerings.
