Parque Estadual do Caracol

Top choice in Rio Grande do Sul

The major attraction of Parque Estadual do Caracol, 9km from Canela, is the spectacular Cascata do Caracol, a 131m waterfall. It’s particularly attractive in the morning sun, when the water sparkles as it cascades over the granite lip.

If you’re feeling fit, you can walk down to the base of the waterfall (and then back up) via 900-plus steps.
