Opened on June 5, 2001, Safari Zoo is located on Avenida do Cursino, next to the São Paulo Zoo. In a total area of 80,000 m², dozens of wild animals are presented to the public on a course of approximately 3.9 km. The structure of the Park allows visitors to closely observe deer, monkey-monkeys, spider monkeys, ostriches, camels, llamas, lions, tigers and other wildlife of native and exotic fauna. Some species can still be fed by the public with feed sold at the Zoo Safari itself, a unique opportunity in a city like São Paulo.
The tour can be carried out in own vehicles or by means of the service of vans available in the place. Another alternative is to visit the Safari Zoo during your walk to the Zoo through a Portal that connects the two Parks, located in Alameda Leon, next to the dromedaries. The ticket, already discounted, has a single price and can be purchased locally. The Safari Zoo has its own parking, snack bar, gift shop, changing room, picnic area and accessible restrooms. As a unit of the Zoological Park Foundation of São Paulo, Zoo Safari has also maintained since 2007 the ISO 14001 certification, which aims to prevent and mitigate the environmental impacts arising from its activities, working proactively in favor of environmental quality and welfare of wild animals.
