The tour visits the West part of Rio de Janeiro, that remains untouched with a lot of nature and secluded beaches. We'll follow the coastline, passing by Reserva Beach and Lagoa de Marapendi and the first stop is at Chico Mendes Park, a protected lagoon area where we can see* caimans and capybaras. Then we'll go to Prainha, a small beach considered the surf spot in Rio where you'll hike 1,5h to Caeté Summit (143m=470ft) that ofers a great view of the coast and other mountains of Rio. From Prainha, in a 5 more min. drive we reach Grumari, our last stop and where we stay to enjoy the beach for about 2,5h. Grumari it´s also a protected area and you'll enjoy an amazing and paradisiac tropical beach with white and fine grain sands, green mountains and blue waters (bring towel and bathing suit).* animals (caimans and capybaras) are wils and in the nature so seeing them is a possibility of 50%.
8 to 9:00 - pick-up from the hotel (South Zone area of Rio only)(*1) and drive to the West Zone of Rio 9 to 10:15 - visit lagoon at Chico Mendes Park to possibly see capybaras and caimans 10:15 to 12:15 - drive to and then hike at Prainha secluded beach park to Caeté Summit 12:15 to 14:45 - drive (5 min.) to Grumari and then enjoy, swim and relax (lunch break on own) 14:45 to 16:30pm - drive back to the city and drop-off on original meeting points 4:30 to 5:30pm - drive back to the city/hotels drop-off(*3) (*1) - starting time (precise pickup time will be informed on the day before the tour according to the pick-up point) (*2) - Lunch/drinks/water are NOT included - please take ready-to-eat food and water (about 2 liters/person) (*3) - times here are approximately and total duration of the tour can vary according to the pace of the group and traffic.
