Birdwachting or birding, is a form of wildlife observation in which the observation of birds is a recreational activity. It can be done with the naked eye, through a visual enhancement device like binoculars and telescopes (wikipedia). It also contributes to the conservation of the natural enviroments and education, besides it promotes a sustainable tourism, the birdwatchers are always searching for new species, different from where they are from:
The best time to watch birds is early morning, the tour starts with the pick-up at your accomodation at 6am. The Caminho do Ouro is a old road, pavimented with stones and it is about 12km from the Paraty Center, it will be around 25 minutes drive, with private transport.The tour guide is specialized for guiding birding tours. The Brazilian Rain Forest has lots of endemic species that are highly appreciated by birdwatchers all over the world. The area is we visit is abou 300m above the ocean level and it is a mix of forest and plantation, very rich in banana. The tour last for about 5 hours, so you will be back to your accomodation by 11am.
