I'm doing the following cycling route across 3 weeks. What do you think of my itinerary? Feel free to just comment on Bosnia if that's where you know best.
It's going to be about 550 km (342 miles) across 3 weeks. So on average about 30 km a day (17 miles a day).
I currently cycle about 60km a week and go to the gym 5 times a week and run 5km once a week. So I do keep fit. I'm aiming to increase the amount I cycle to 100km a week in the lead up to this event.

My wife (Hema) and I went on an eleven-day tour of Bosnia & Herzegovina, from 06/10/2017 to 17/10/2017, which we deem as a great time of our lives.
All our apprehensions about going to a place that is generally known in India as not a usual place to visit vanished as we were still in the air approaching the runway in the airport in Sarajevo on 06/10/2017! The spectacular topography of the region around Sarajevo, that was visible from the aircraft, removed all apprehensions and fear in our…
I am an experienced traveler with a rental car hitting Croatia for the past 10 years. Was in Mostar 9 years ago or before the bridge was rebuilt. Thinking of a 2-3 day trip this time starting in Mostar and bus or train to the capital (3 hours by train). Is the capital a not to miss destination? Food? I love adventure, exploring country side and anything unique. I have been to 50 countries so always looking for new adventure. Can I do this in 2 days? Is a rental car safe to park in Mostar…
I plan on cycling the Balkans for 3 weeks in August. Starting and finishing at Dubrovnik.
In terms of distance, I should be ok cycling 40km per day.
I definitely want to go into Montenegro. I then have a few options:
1) Go into Albania and to Tirana
2) Go into Bosnia to Mostar and/or Sarajevo (travelling inland through Montenegro and maybe stopping at Durmitor National Park on route).
3) Maybe get to Serbia
Do you have any advice? If I chose Bosnia, I'd visit Mostar and Sarajevo (any any…
I'm planning on travelling from Sarajevo to Sofia by bus or train and I'm finding it very difficult to find any helpful information on it. I've seen posts from a few years ago saying that there's a bus going from Sarajevo to Nis and then Nis to Sofia, is this service still running?
I've also seen a recommendation on Rome2Rioto go from Sarajevo to Zvornik, Zvornik to Nis and then Nis to Sofia but the website it links to doesn't provide any information about the timetable.
Any up to…
I have a flight into Split and then out of Sarajevo 10 days later. I was initially going to spend half the time on the Croatian coast and half going through Mostar to Sarajevo. However I'm now thinking, as I'd like to know more about Bosnia, about the possibility of leaving Split straight for Mostar and spending all my time there, but - I'm struggling to find a decent route over 8/9 days.
I know the popular cities are Mostar, Sarajevo and Jacje but is there anywhere else people would…
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Greece in September. We want to take a side trip and can't decide between Dubrovnik, Croatia and Slovdiv, Bulgaria. We are fairly adventurous travelers. We like to see the historic sites as well as natural wonders. We also really like to experience the local food and culture. Any thoughts on which to pick are much appreciated. Thanks!
Looking to fly from Manchester UK to Bosnia for a few days then onto Slovenia for a few days then onto Munich for about 4 days. Total trip 10/11 days. Cheap flights seem hard to get to Bosnia and Slovenia but ok for Munich. Time restraint is 11 days max.
Has anyone done a similar trip? Trying to keep cost down and happy with main highlights in each.
Any thoughts appreciated
